Robert--Thank you for what you do on a daily basis. It is very helpful to have someone provide us with a deeper analysis on many important issues than we can get from most of our regular news sources, even reliable ones. Your sense of perspective and urgent, yet measured, messaging are very much appreciated.

Watching America be destroyed in real time is painful. Will the story behind Manchin and Sinema be that they just saw America differently than their Democratic colleagues? Two people out of 350,000,000 destroyed our democracy. A great experiment destroyed by two human beings whose power to destroy it came from it! I am crying; it's so, so sad.

If Garland’s underlying motivation is to “prioritize rehabilitation of the DOJ” then “prosecution of the leaders of the coup attempt” is essential. We now know that the DOJ can be quickly politicized by any President and his party - that train has left the station - now the priority should be to enforce the laws, incarcerate the seditionists and prevent them from obtaining power in the future.

No one can know for sure the motivations behind the obstructionism of Manchin or Sinema. One thing is certain however, while it’s keeping them center stage in the media, they’re both responsible for bringing the sausage maker of Democracy to a halt, to the detriment of millions…tragic and sad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: while Manchin and the Republicans bellyache over spending that would help We the People, half our tax dollars goes to the defense industry. THAT is an obscenity that nobody talks about.

The U.S. military budget is larger than the next ten military budgets in the world COMBINED, including China, Russia, India, Germany, UK, France, Saudi Arabia. If we only spent as much as the next five countries combined, we could fund the full 3.5 trillion reconciliation bill and still have plenty of money left over to cut the deficit.

For some perspective, what we're seeing now is--although more serious--not new. I offer this from more than 50 years ago:

Your point about Trump moving made me smile! If only that could get recalcitrant Dems on board the package!

Robert, you are the kind of a soldier one would want to share a fox hole with during battle. Realistic and accurate yet optimistic.
