Happy Anniversary! My husband and I also celebrated our 40th this year! Wishing you both many more blessings in the years ahead. I love Jill’s blog. We too our Catholic and share many of the same memories.
In like kind, I don’t go to bed until I’ve read both! They give me peace. (When Heather posts very late, I check Facebook because she appears there first — or I sleep but check if I wake up in the night.)😊
Wishing you a very happy anniversary! Thank you for your recommendation of Eugene Robinson’s article. I had already read it before I saw your newsletter, and I found it to be a really wonderful affirmation of what the Democrats have going for them. Sometimes we need to be reminded of that. Have a wonderful weekend!
First, Jill is clearly your beter half. Deal with it.
More seriously, I find myself on the horns of a dilemma. One of the Democratic moderates who is threatening to torpedo the Democrats' $3.5B budget is not my representative, but someone I have supported with money, and I expected to do that in the future. I could call her office this morning and leave a message that if she wants my money in the future she won't mess up Nancy Pelosi's plans. On the other hand, I don't think contributors should drive representatives' decisions--constituents should. Right now, I'm undecided, leaning toward not making the call.
A lobbyist I know and admire used to say that our contributions don't give us the right to get politicians to do what we want, but they do give us the right to have access and ask them.
Happiest of anniversaries to you both! I so enjoy following both of your blogs. Thank you for confirming my hunch that we are living through an outstanding Presidential administration, and have one of the most effective Speakers of the House we have ever had. I believe that ALL politics is local, and that the way we conduct our daily lives has the greatest impact on bation al policy.
This is a good news edition all around! And sincere congratulations on this fine occasion of your 40th! So wonderful! Take time out to breathe anew and focus on each other, with all that has been, is and will be.💕
Happy Anniversary! To know and be known for a lifetime with a perfect match is the prize of lives well-lived.
May you both live them well for many years to come, surrounded by your loving progeny.
Thanks for all you do and say,
Lulucia
What a feat of good fortune that you two soulmates found one another from a very early age. Wishing you many more years of wedded bliss!
Congratulations on 40 years - and you clearly still like one another. Happy Anniversary!
Thank you both for sharing your thoughts, interests, and blessings with us. You are beautiful people. Love and joy to you on this special celebration.

Thanks. Eugene Robinson and Jennifer Rubin are consistently wonderful.
So happy and grateful for you and Jill! Wishing you every joy as you celebrate your mutual devotion.

I would let it play out a bit longer. If Manchin and Sinema support a $3 trillion reconciliation bill, that may be reasonable . . .

That’s the way it is, generally, but that’s what I’m not comfortable with it.
Happy anniversary!
