Www.forcemultiplierus.org is supporting Senator Warnock. We are an all volunteer organization/- we don’t touch donations — we research them most effective place to donate
For those of us who feel exhausted from the emotions of this historic week, I concur with Barbara M.'s comment- take some time to recuperate!
THEN, I suggest looking at Working America for your donation dollars. Their people form relationships with voters and rationally present the case for our perspective. Their methods are tested with random control trials and, compared to giving directly to a candidate, produce votes at the cost efficient rate of close to $60/vote compared with $1000-$2000/vote. See:
Are the 2 orgs Focus for Democracy has identified as the most effective operations in GA that need a groundswell of support NOW. With only 30 days, the sooner they get funds, the more effective they can be. Both also have volunteer opportunities. It’s tempting to go to GA to help but it’s much more effective to donate to these orgs that are trained, on the ground, and already at work. PCs to voters, letters, vote curing- we need to keep at it and demonstrate to the world that democracy is participatory and salvageable.
VoteRiders.org is making sure the more than 157,000 registered Georgia voters without an ID on file with the state...receive the information and assistance they need to cast a ballot that counts! Your donations (https://www.voteriders.org/donate/) are essential to our effectively reaching these at-risk voters so they can vote with confidence, knowing they cannot be turned away! For over 10 years, VoteRiders’ mission has been to ensure that no eligible voter is prevented from casting a ballot that counts due to voter ID laws, either directly from lack of acceptable ID or indirectly because of voter confusion. Thank you - and Robert!
This organisation represents voters living abroad. Unfortunately, the deadline to register to vote in the Georgia election and run off was Nov. 7th but anyone in the US who has family/friends living abroad should advise them to join their local chapter and register to vote in future elections via vote.org
Thank you for this, Candace. I made a modest contribution to the CO Dems through the Daily Kos link though I don't see a link in the article about ballot curing. Went to the Adam Frisch website and it seems to be eluding me there too. Will dig deeper though if you have a direct link to "help cure," I'd appreciate it.
www.thecivicscenter.org is sending postcards to young voters in GA. You all know how important the youth vote was on Tuesday, and you might also know that GA intentionally changed its voter registration laws to suppress new voters in runoff elections. If voters were not registered by Tuesday, they cannot vote in the runoff, so it all comes down to getting out the vote. See https://twitter.com/TheCivicsCenter/status/1590786280316895232?s=20&t=ECy8ytK2QO2uiy9St8RA1Q
is working hard to be sure Georgians living abroad know they can vote, need to do it again, how to go about it and get help for any issue.
There is also a big effort underway to help cure ballots - you can help. Or send your friends from Georgia living abroad to us for help. Or send anyone you know living abroad to us if they've had an issue with their ballot being accepted.
I write partially to note, for me, that the biggest take-away from Tuesday’s midterms was the decisive defiance of MAGA extremists largely due to GenZ’s historic engagement. Moreover, I would add, by 2024, that millions more will be eligible to vote, a factor, indeed, that substantially will drive up Democratic wins in federal, state, and local elections.
Further, along with the December 6th Georgia run-off, I wish to amplify a second front-burner issue: the importance of calling attention to at least two pressing legislative clean-up and structural priorities for the so-called “lame duck” Congressional session. While Dems still control both chambers, I would suggest we urge particularly the Senate (a) to complete its reforms of the Electoral Count Act and (b) to use reconciliation to prophylactically raise the debt ceiling to preclude Republicans, were they to control the House in January, from threatening to default on the national debt as pretext for extracting concessions on protections, including Social Security, Medicare, Veterans benefits, and more.
What happened in Michigan should be an inspiration and goal for all of us. The people of Michigan put in place an independent committee to draw the districts thereby eliminating gerrymandering! The Ds won back the state legislature for the first time in forty years! Good show, Michiganers! We, the People, all of us this time!
YES!! Thanks to Michigan for getting to "independent committee to draw the non-gerrymandered districts" - This is what is missing in OHIO - despite the fact that in 2018 more than 70% of OH voters. voted for "Fair Districts". - the 5 Republicans (with only 2 Democratic members) on the committee Ohio refused to create fair districts - their proposed maps were struck down 5 times by the Ohio Supreme Court - and it was these gerrymandered districts that were used this week....How can this ever change unless there is an independent commission....?
Over the past two days MSNBC had on the air interviews with winners of various races from around the country. What was striking and the real win for the Democrats and the country was the diversity of the candidates from a lesbian mayor in Boston to various women of color from extreme poverty and gun violence and candidates who were first generation. Immigrants. These candidates represent what America is really all about and brings generational perspective to our legislative process. This for me was quite a contrast from the mostly white male dominated candidates from the Republican Party. The voters in the midterms soundly rejected in many parts of the country Republican MAGA election deniers and voter suppression advocates not only at the national level but also at the local area which has been largely ignored in previous years. At the end of the day Democrats should be empowered and proud about what they accomplished. It feels like how Ukrainian’s must feel when they win battles against Russia. We still have one more big battle left in Georgia.
Stephen, While I couldn’t begin to relate to the anguish and suffering inflicted on the Ukrainians who are fighting on all our behalf’s, I loved what you wrote about our slate of candidates who won their elections.

“ These candidates represent what America is really all about and brings generational perspective to our legislative process.” YES!!
Correction - “lesbian mayor in Boston”:
You evidently refer to Maura Healy, the Massachusetts Attorney General, just elected *Governor of Massachusetts*.
