Sometimes I think that anti-Semites are a lot like misogynists and anti-anythingers. In their warped consciousness, they think they're fair and broad-minded. Like the white folks did in Mississippi when the FBI showed up to investigate the two white and one Black college men who went missing while they were challenging open segregation in the 60's.

I think I am most annoyed by Jewish people who tell anti-Semitic jokes and then take that same damn attitude, like there's nothing wrong with it.

That swipe App sounds right up my old alley.

To prove how old my alley is, when I debated in College, I competed at a trophy-competitive level against a team led by Laurence Tribe. He wouldn't remember me, but I remember him. I was almost as good as him. How's that for a claim to fame? 😉

Robert,

First, congratulations on the nuptials. What a wonderful event to celebrate!

Second, re: registered vs. likely voters. My gut tells me that all those women who disproportionately registered to vote did not do so and then plan not to vote. That makes no sense. So I would call those women who registered likely as well.

Third, studies show that canvassing door-to-door is the best way to get people to turn out. Discuss when they plan to vote, how they will get to the polls, etc. This is more effective than writing postcards, which I have done this weekend. But I plan to use shoe leather in the weekends to come.

As a follow on to Today’s Edition please look at these numbers. 70% of all eligible voters right now are either women, people of color or young (18-35) — or some combination of the three. Add in the 1/3 of older white men who support women’s rights, civil rights and believe we are truly killing this planet, and you suddenly realize you already belong to a massive, crushing majority of people who want to save this country.

Many polling models are based on a estimated volume of turnout based on historical data. The models will be proven wrong if the turnout is high. Every ounce of effort has to be focused on turnout. I am downloading the application Robert mentioned and getting the word out. Do not assume your Democratic friends will vote because historically they all haven’t. So it’s all in the numbers and up to us. Turnout in volume is the only way we counter the false Republicans claim of voter frauds and rigged elections. You can’t argue when there was overwhelming voters voting for Democrats and Democracy.

Robert, you wrote: "The high likelihood is that the 11th Circuit will overrule Judge Cannon and dismiss the case." I am SO hopeful this is what happens. My question is, if it does happen, what implications for that woman lie ahead with regard to her "career" as a federal judge? It would seem to me that her blatant overreach and poor decisions and her obvious bias would have a devastating blow to any credibility for the future.

Congratulations on a wonderful family wedding celebration!

Thank you, Robert for this excellent update. Let's not forget the Absentee Ballots that have been requested. Lots

of seniors and disAbled can't get to the

polls in person.

Thank you once again for your voice and wisdom. I echo your advice with my own urging to remember there is only one answer to Republican treachery and foolishness that will ultimately save our democracy. That answer is more Democratic votes than Republican votes. Do not waste your time or energy bewhailing the Republican chicanery or foolishness. That will not deliver us what we seek. Instead focus on motivating those on the margins yet undecided. Find someone who has a challenge to getting to a polling location to cast a vote and help them overcome that challenge. Help in whatever way you can get out candidates messages about what they stand for and why it is important to support them.

The battle we are engaged in is for votes. The candidate with the most votes will be representing all of us, not just those whose votes they earned. Let's do all we can to put responsible, well qualified, and well intentioned folks in elected office.

I write for postcards to voters and also for Activate America. www.Activateamerica.vote. You can write postcards for Cortez-Masto through them.

The Democratic Senate majority hinges on Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto holding her seat. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/23402652/catherine-cortez-masto-nevada-senate

Robert, thanks for the shoutout about PostcardsToVoters.org! Below is a Linktr.ee if anyone wants to write with us on Zoom. We’ll be meeting almost every day now until we have to stop until about a week before the election. There is also a link on there with more info about postcarding and another for other forms of activism. All three of our groups (including Sarah O’s Team Min) have been meeting together on Zoom since March, 2020. Please join us for conversation and help with getting started (if you are new to postcarding). https://linktr.ee/postcardaroundtheclock

When someone says something 'disturbed' like comments about Israel, that make utterly no sense, it is that that person's mind does not make sense.

There is a very interesting article in the Washington Post about Russian citizens using their cell phone to record people coming into their apartment building, stopping a truck driver -- and saying, no you cannot have my documents, look this is what we have every morning when we leave the apartment (a woman to her companion, while filming). I recommend this article. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/10/16/russia-mobilization-men/

Nate Cohn this morning has the Republicans up for 3-4 points for Congress, based on (he surmises) rising gas prices and inflation. If true, people will get the government they deserve. Meanwhile, I continue to write letters for voteforward.org.

Your optimism is a welcome relief, after seeing the MSM declare republican victory. It’s an uphill battle despite the obvious horror that the republicans keep raining down on us all. The Democratic reluctance to call out the the republican contract on America, especially oldsters is beyond my comprehension. Thanks to Joe for his efforts. Follow suit, you “go high” losers. Enough already.

538 has been warning that the polls would tighten closer to the election so this is not unexpected.

The Democrats are up against extreme negative messaging. At DemCastUSA.com, where I volunteer, we have been pushing back hard on social media. If you want to do something simple, follow your favorite candidates and interact positively with their campaigns. Share information about them. If you live in a safe blue area, pick a Senate race that's tight and undercovered like NV – Catherine Cortez Masto, NC – Cheri Beasley, or NH – Maggie Hassan.

This is a big part of why right-wing messaging is so effective. They understand algorithms and the power of sharing information with people they know — much more powerful than legacy media. We can do it too.

Amen! We've got three weeks to deliver a blue tsunami - we have the votes and the Dems' agenda is widely supported by voters when they KNOW what they are. Too many don't know bc they are low-info - so it's on us to get the word out. I've launched www.democrats-deliver.org which covers Dem accomplishments on the 24 issues most imp to voters.

Also if you need volunteer or donation recs, I just did a newsletter for family and friends (see quote from Robert at the bottom). I've got links to a ton of textbanks (super easy to do - I did two simultaneously last week while answering work emails and calls), canvassing, election integrity as well as targeted donations (based on the latest Q3 fundraising reports). https://us11.campaign-archive.com/?e=__test_email__&u=1ce01226d7c93f240ce04fbb4&id=95c9739107

I worked for a thriving semiconductor manufacturer in the '80s. They sent all the production to China, then had the engineers and design drafters to train the Chinese. Shut plant down, laid everyone off. I thought it was a strategic blunder at the time.
