Heather Cox Richardson on media coverage of Aghanistan: "Interestingly, much of the U.S. media is describing this scenario as a disaster for President Biden. Yet, on CNN this morning, Matthew Dowd, who was the chief strategist for the Bush-Cheney ticket in 2004, noted that more than 20,000 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan without a single loss of an American life, while in the same period of time, 5000 Americans have died from Covid-19 and 500 have died from gunshots."

There’s a big difference between being un-vaxxed and anti-vaxx. Our issue is with anti-vaxxers who are clogging up hospitals due to willful ignorance/negligence. Personally I can’t be more concerned about their well being than they are. They’re also the ones who didn’t come in when it started to rain.

I had to laugh out loud at the idiocy of anti-vaxxers refusing to take Covid vaccine because it is approved only for emergency use. What? There's no emergency? OTOH they flock to take a substance prescribed for a variety of non-viral problems in animals - and human lice !! ?? Does anyone know if they are the same people?

Fox News is a “clear and present danger.” Thank you for de-escalating the rhetoric. Time to back off from the news long enough to hear how hysterical it has become. Some of these columnists need smelling salts. As always, I appreciate your acumen.

Yes, "avoid stigmatizing" is the best advice possible for ending the division among us for all sorts of reasons. Not all Republicans are alike, and all Democrats are not alike. We have to start seeing other humans as individuals all the time, not data groups. "Not a horse, not a cow" indeed. Human. A species composed of multitudes of individuals, each one unique.
