Time tax is a poll tax by another name. That tax has been outlawed by a Constitutional amendment; maybe Marc Elias can start suing with that as the focus!
As I was reading today's edition (pun intended), the select committee hearing was on. One of the Capitol Police officers was testifying how Tump has said that the rioters were expressing love and kisses. He observed that "I'm still recovering from those love and kisses." KAPOW!
On the vital issue of voting rights, the best comment I have heard is, "It ought to be a crime to make people wait so long to vote that they need food and water."
I am glad you focused on the of Charles Blow. He was so on the mark. Biden should pass the voting rights bill with national muscle or it won't matter what other things he does because Republicans will take over and democracy will be killed.
I read this after watching today's hearing. Starting off with officers who represented their fellows was perfect! Those testifying were treated with respect and gratitude by committee members and their testimonies exposed the lies of Trump and his sycophants regarding the insurrection on January 6th. I can't imagine what the hearing would have been like with Jim Jordan haranguing these officers!
