Thanksgiving break!
2024-11-29
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We finished the dishes and put away the folding chairs at about 10:00 p.m. So, no newsletter on Thanksgiving evening. I will send a short newsletter on Friday evening to carry us into the weekend.
The image below is one of my favorites—the Orion Nebula. It is 1,344 light-years from Earth and 24 light-years across. The nebula is a massive star-forming region visible to the naked eye under dark skies. Although I took the image about a month ago, I finally processed it on November 28. The skies in LA are still obscured by patchy clouds. I hope to capture new images over the weekend.
Enjoy!

Your photos are exquisite! You are part of Carl Sagan‘s Legacy. Yesterday‘s newsletter was especially remarkable, so shareable, and the comments were rich with gratitude and perspectives. I commented on one reader’s post whereby she shared a link for a five minute video focused on gratitude and it is exquisite. Your newsletter and the video both begged to be shared, and when I did so, the responses were heartfelt with appreciation. So, like a pebble in the pool… And then a second pebble in the pool… And then the expanding rings overlap and intermingle… We are in this together in that same way. So grateful to both you and Jill. Your personal video is precious. Take your time in this season. Each day dawns anew. We are all deeply indebted to you two, and the synergy of your expressed gratitude completes the circle. A deep thank you, Rob and Jill, as the journey continues. Fellowship for good.🙏🏽

Robert:
Enjoy your out of this world photos ! Keep them coming! They help lessen the impact of the sickness in today's politics! Like the song in Mary Poppins says, "A little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down!
P.S.
What do you give a nebula with asthma ?
A "NEBULIZER !"
Thanks again for your star link thoughts and insights to survival in these trying times!
