A few months ago, I heard an amazing talk by Hardy Merriman, who has worked in the field of civil resistance supporting movements advancing human rights freedom and justice worldwide. Based on his experience, he emphasized that the electorate will have high expectations for real change after this decade long bout with authoritarianism. He expressed the need to build a mandate for action during the campaign so when the elected official pursues major systemic changes, he/she can state that they are pursuing the agenda that he/she was elected on. You've returned to this interview in subsequent posts.

Political corruption is one of the leading issues that the voters are concerned about. Trump's corruption far exceeds past improprieties by leaps and bounds. Indeed, he is recognized as being the most corrupt President ever. He has repeatedly engaged in multiple impeachable offenses to further this corruption in addition to a wide range of other malfeasance. Why shouldn't pursuing his impeachment when we retake the House and the Senate 2027 be one of the voter mandates.

I understand that we have been unsuccessful twice and even should the Democrats take the Senate in 2026, they likely wouldn't have the votes to convict. But isn't such a stand important as a matter of principle and to reclaim our democracy. And, can't we put a target on the backs of every Republican that again allows this evil man to remain in office. We could use this as one basis for driving enough additional Republicans out of the Senate in 2028 that we could truly take historic action with the newly-elected Democratic President.

I'd love to hear more about this and other mandate considerations.

The photos -- from the nebula on down -- are wonderful.

My podiatrist has a Tesla and found a bumper sticker he slapped on it -- "I bought it before he lost his mind."

We keep on keeping on.
