I'll add my thanks and admiration for the print, audio, and video versions of your inspiring newsletter. The astrophotographs and resistance photos are icing that complements and completes the cake.
I have to admit, though, that I'm bemused when I see phrases such as "only 37%" approve of or support or think Trump is doing a good job. Only? Would we say someone took "only" 1/3 of a pie meant to share wiith a crowd? That's a pretty big chunk of a whole anything. I understand that 2/3 is a bigger chunk, but I mourn for those stuck in the mire.

Not even a mention that many of us can afford an EV even on payments. The saving on
gas would cover most of the monthly payment. Total sales worldwide in 2026 could be 20
million. And this cuts in to the Iranian income sailing through the Strait. Maybe the Democrats
should run a make believe negotiations with actors playing Iranians where we point out how we have long term advantage over Iran. Iran has oil, thats all! We can point out 100 examples where
Europe and Asia are creating a world without need of Iranian oil. Can't our candidates think long

There is something I don't understand. Why are we so concerned about replacing Mitch McConnell? The way I figure it, he is dead, and probably died that first day. Let Republicans act out their silly charade. The longer it lasts the more stupid they look, and I am looking forward to how they explain it all when the truth comes out.
With McConnell MIA, Republicans have one less vote in the Senate, and that is just fine with me.
A special election would give them back a Republican vote for the rest of this term, and I would rather do without it. Look at what they did with Lindsey Graham. He wasn't even dead 24 hours before the governor announced that he was appointing Graham's sister to replace him. She has no qualifications, and will vote exactly as they tell her to.
There is talk of having the sister run for a full term in November, but I thought Republicans already chose Andy Barr as the candidate in the primary.
I've been thinking about what it means to start a war. A WAR. For no good reason. That needn't have been. It is the absolute most irresponsible and consequential thing a president can do. It is THE greatest crime. Think of the money he is spending - not his, OURS; think of the ballooning of the national debt he is causing, making everything less stable, more fragile, more vulnerable; think of the lives cut short, the pain of injury and loss, the grief, the families that will never be the same; think of the allies he's alienated; think of the war crimes he's committed and the total lack of understanding he exhibits as commander in chief... We must really think this through when, God willing, we take back Congress: how to change the structure of government so as to prohibit this mind-blowing abuse from ever happening again.
Old saying: "He who dies with the most toys wins". This is how these people think. They are 1/3 of us. They are hard wired into our genetics having evolved to survive on a planet with changing climate cycles. If the human species is to survive the impending destruction of their physical world's conditions that support carbon based life forms, we are going to need a way to manage this part of us. I propose we take away their toys and force them to cooperate with the rest of us if they are going to survive. Modern technology has given us the tools to manage a sustainable population on our planet and not "burn" it up with pure selfishness.

I want to thank Robert Hubbell for steadfastly emboldening us, reminding us that the US Constitution is still in effect, as is the rule of law, even though the Grump administration is working every day to weaken it; to recognize that we have agency, that we have sovereignty as US citizens; that immigrants are important to this country as we all came from immigrants, except the Native Americans who were already here; that we are "not potted plants" which always makes me chuckle; for imparting the importance of courage as we navigate our way through the Grump obstacle course. More than ever, we MUST vote against the tyrannical Grump regime, we must vote to keep our democratic Republic, and we must keep the faith that this too shall pass. I hope that the damage inflicted by the MAGA Rethuglicans on our government can be repaired.

In Florida, Byron Donalds is Trump’s heir apparent to DeSantis (whom DeSantis will not endorse!). His preliminary ads were all firey clips of him with Trump and Trump endorsing Byrons to keep the MAGA agenda alive. Now, his ads are much slicker and they have Donalds fighting against Washington, particularly concerning AI. He is saying he will fix property taxes, lower insurance costs, improve affordability and provide health care to Floridians. The irony of this is that Florida has been controlled by Republicans in house, senate and with governor for three decades. Once again they cause a problem and then pretend they will fix it. The good news is that David Jolly is gaining attention and has a shot… we are all working hard to turn the governor’s mansion blue.

I was in Nashville, TN - for four days visiting my son - and I stayed at a hotel - I turned on the TV in AM - for a weather report - hot, humid & rain - AND political ads for folks (men) running for the Governorship & one fellow running for Treasurer - whose slogan was, '"Keep Marsha doing what she's doing, a great job, vote for me as Treasurer". Marsha Blackburn, and the other candidates mottos/slogans were about their allegiance to TRUMP, "I'm with the President" "I'm a conservative, lets get rid of the illegals" I had a visceral reaction and turned the TV off, I was frozen in place for a few minutes, could NOT believe what I was seeing. My trip from CA to TN really took me outside of my bubble and I could see that folks still seem to be drinking the Trump coolaid, with gusto. There were back to back, non stop, ads for folks running for office and believing that hooking their wagon to TRump was a winning strategy. I am so deflated and confused about the state of our country, I'm not sure how so many people seem to still believe in the GOP message or the believe that our president is a "good guy"... it was shocking, to my core...
Hi all good people protesting. When making signs, keep in mind that colors come to our eyes in wave lengths. So please, one color words. Makes your sign more readable. They are meant to be read quickly, no time for a reader to figure it out. So, no multi colored lettering and keep up your great work…we will win !
Thank you so much, Robert, for including my 9 yr old granddaughter's sign. We just looked at the photos together, and she was so happy to see it. I tried uploading several more from the protest, but they were kicked back from the server. Her first protest was a great experience (and very safe on an overpass). Much dancing, honks from cars and semis. Many of her schoolmates are terrified of ICE, so she is very informed.
