When I feel tired of taking actions, I remind myself that as a white person of privilege, it is my absolute responsibility to keep taking action. Is there room for rest? Yes. Is there room for self pity and quitting? NO. Thank you Robert for being a great example.

Is anyone keeping track of the cost of all the lawsuits that have had to be filed because Trump is breaking the law and not abiding by the constitution? He should have to repay the costs.

World news! Republican , Lindsey Graham, died and intelligence Michael Nance believes McConnell may have died a while ago, but tRump administration is probably covering it up. We shall see. There are 4 republicans now voting with the democrats. If two additional republicans died, we might be even with Vance breaking the tie vote. God works in mysterious ways! 🙏

I understand people having bad days even weeks with all the evil and always bad news we read daily (mind you there is, as you say, tons of good news about the resistance but also about everything--just the major news folks ignore it as we know as a business model--bad supposedly sells). I do of course. BUT the constant emails you get Robert Hubbell saying "I'm done." or That's it for me!" etc. is puzzling to me. You're done what?!?! Do you not understand that this is the way fascism and other dreadful power plays and movements operate? And that this is never about giving up or being done? I just don't get it. My personal hypothesis is US Americans are soft, unwilling to feel uncomfortable or worried for a while. At least those alive today, older and younger (not everyone of course, but you know that). We just don't have a solid understanding of history or our current reality and certainly not of what it takes to persevere and fight against evil. Too busy watching our series on TV or sports on TV or. . .drowning our sense of reality in alcohol or drugs. Sigh. Folks, get spines, toughen up--the world is a scary place but for the actions and courage of those who can face reality without fainting away.

Folks in Greater Boston-FYI there will be showing of Lightworkers (in which Robert is interviewed) this coming Wednesday at the Lexington Venue theater. Let me know if you are going and maybe we can have a little mini-Hubbell fan club meeting before .. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

This morning we woke up to the shocking news that Lindsey Graham had died suddenly overnight. I did not follow his career closely except to know that he was very close with John McCain, who I admired, and he was a strong supporter of Ukraine. He served his country a long tome but it is a shame he ruined his reputation, in my mind, by supporting Donald Trump. Especially after denouncing him in the past. I am sorry for his family and loved ones but wish he had more bravery when it came to Trump.

Stunning photo, Robert!! A visual we can move through in this form, and that leaves us in awe!

We need AWE in our lives. That fits nicely with the 80/20 rule-heavy doses of 80% AWE to navigate the 20% of darker happenings.

I also recommend Joanne Freeman, a historian. Wicked sense of humor laced with fantastic history mentions. History does teach us so much! She pairs with Heather Cox Richardson for weekly chats but is truly a great stand-by herself addition of resistance and knowledge. You can find her on YouTube.

Take care, everyone.

If there is an afterlife as many believe, it seems certain he will never see John McCain, but, in a few years, he'll be reunited with someone who will really make it hellish.

This makes no sense.

He is Graham. McCain is in heaven; he is in hell to be joined by someone Trump

So the Justice Department subpoenaed reporters from the NYT over the story published about the security concerns of Air Force One. While this is reprehensible on the part of the DOJ and First Amendment, if the mainstream media had been crying foul all during trump 1.0 and 2.0 about all the wrongs his administration has been doing and all the crazy stuff, maybe the NYT wouldn’t be in this boat.

I am still reeling from the murder of the Houston man, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, on July 7, shot in the stomach by ICE and left bleeding out in the street while shackled. DHS and ICE claims they were targeting another man. I guess one brown man looks like every other brown man to ICE. ICE followed the white van in two unmarked black cars with no identifying information, no lights or siren, cornered the white van, and then ICE thugs jumped out of their cars guns blazing and shot Araujo from the passenger side of the vehicle.

To cover up their crime DHS and ICE declared that the victim rammed their car and tried to run over an ICE agent, their standard lie. The FBI is investigating but they are not sharing evidence with the local prosecutor. What will the FBI investigation reveal? It is outrageous that a man is murdered and federal agencies are trying to cover it up. They are lying about what happened, dismissing the reports from three witnesses who were in the van with the victim. The racist and anti-immigrant comments are disgusting. I hope the city of Houston fights back against this trauma and demands that the truth be told, demands that the shooter be arrested and tried. ICE should be dismantled, and their funding sent back to communities for healthcare, housing, groceries, gas, child care and community services. ICE poses a threat to public safety.

"The FBI is investigating...." Right. I'll believe that when I see reports.

The FBI is supposedly still investigating Renee Good and Alex Pretti's murder.. Ha! I have little hope for the family of Mr. Araujo. Especially since it has been reported that they are trying to get the witnesses to self deport.

The FBI under Kash Patel is a joke. So I agree, not a believable scenario.

A strong Ukraine supporter and just back. You know the Russians can cause heart attacks.

Karen J Sjogren's avatar

I think the trip put too much strain on his heart and killed him, as he had heart disease. He was not meeting with Russians.

Some super signs! Again! I love the idea of a Protest in Costume! :-) Also super: the response from the NC person about how to help make change!

Humans painted stories on cave walls as early as 51,000 years ago. It would be super if we find depictions of astronomical sights in addition to animals and people.

1. Is it time for Democratic candidates to focus on what their Republican opponents voted for and say how they will or did vote? I see most comments on Trump but he is not running.

Another amazing photo! Thanks too for the explanation which is also amazing. Puts a different perspective on time as we humans perceive it.
