Daily Dose of Perspective
I was able to find time this evening to set up my telescope. I photographed one of my favorite objects, the Rosette Nebula. The Rosette Nebula is a vast cloud of gas and dust located roughly 5,000 light-years away and is about 130 light-years across — large enough that, if visible to the naked eye, it would appear six times the diameter of the full Moon. The central cavity is created by stellar winds from young, hot stars at the center of the nebula.
Keen observers will see the outline of a telephone pole (or wire?) that I failed to notice when I centered my scope on the Rosette Nebula. The pole distorted the color / light in a “band” in the upper 1/3 on the right side, cutting across the center of the photo. The pole “rotated” through a portion of the photo, leaving the lighter “swath” of color.

Wow; I'm heartened by the fact that demonstrations are taking place everywhere all the time. No Kings is going to be huge, but this constant pressure is even better. We can do this if we don't give up, which is what they want.
Your photos of ongoing protests give me hope & shows that there are many of us in this community!
