Blessings upon all of you who did the hardest work, knocking on the doors to convince others to vote and discussing their best options. My health did not allow me to join you, but I was there in spirit. And I sent $$ to many campaigns where I might not have otherwise cared. Fingers crossed and waiting for the big win tomorrow!!
In case you haven't seen it, but JD Vance just said at his rally that they will take out the trash in DC, and the "trash's" name is Kamala Harris. MSNBC just aired it; and Tim is on the show right now as well. The Vice President of the US is "trash" according to JD Vance!
Robert, heartfelt thanks to you and Jill and your myriad helpers for your monumental effort over these past months, for keeping us informed, focused, balanced, encouraged - could not have stayed calm and sane during this campaign without you! I've shared your columns widely, too, so as to spread the positive outlook. I'm feeling pretty positive, but of course cannot help feeling nervous too. But thanks to your cheerleading and reporting, I feel confident that we will continue to do together whatever needs to be done - and tomorrow, I'm expecting to share a bottle of champagne!
We can do this! We are doing this! Thank you, everyone! And thank you, Robert, as always, for raising our spirits, raising our awareness, raising the bar for participation! I remain forever grateful!
I join everyone here in thanking you and Jill and ALL who have been "keeping the faith" and working to save our democracy. May your canvassing today (and tomorrow?) go well. I wish I could be there with you to help.
I've made calls for Mecklenburg a couple of times this weekend. Today I'll be calling with Indivisible Marin (for Harris and Rudy Salas) and tomorrow for Dan Osborn in Nebraska. I'd prefer to be knocking doors but made too many donations to candidates to be able to afford to get anywhere that needs me!
we are leaving nothing on the table or lawn or door step in NC - I canvassed, postcarded (I Chair Women for Stein and we did OVER 1/4 million), called poll worker to confirm, Boiler Room last 2 weeks for early polling issues, all day tomorrow Boiler Room, then on to curing absentee ballots until Nov 14 - we've got this - we cannot say we could not do 5 more minutes. Love NC being a s swing state - Love that you and Jessica came to Mack - Drew is awesome as are our 1-- county chairs!!! We can do this - YES WE CAN!!!!!!
Robert, as a very early subscriber, you kept me sane from 2016 on. At that time, you were still working at your law firm. Your retirement plans may have changed drastically BDJT (before that guy) but your inspirational, fact-based perspective has been life-changing for so many of us! Yes, no matter what, we will stand together for the values of democracy: inclusiveness, respect, agency, integrity. When Harris wins, there will still be much to do to make democracy work for everyone but thanks to folks like you and others, we will prevail. Love over hate is what life requires to thrive.
"Redemptive victory"!!🙏💙🇺🇲 Thanks for your example! Thanks for your uplifting spirit! Nervous, but very excited 💙🌊💙🌊💙 I mailed 500 postcards to North Carolina voters! With each one, I whispered,Vote BLUE 🙏
PSA for all who are tense about tomorrow's results:
Whether or not the election turns out the way we want it to, we know that we have done everything humanly possible to turn hearts and minds toward saving democracy.
I have friends and family who have never been politically active who have stepped up to write postcards, make phone calls and texts, and go door-to-door during this election cycle.
I know neighbors and friends who have spoken up to hostile or unknown strangers and been polite, courteous, and convincing about their beliefs.
I have gotten untold numbers of messages of support from friends and strangers about my t-shirts, hats, and signs.
And, tomorrow, like many of you, I will be working at the polls for the local government, making sure that citizens who come to vote have a safe and welcoming experience doing so, and that anyone who turns up can vote at least with a provisional ballot. That is your right, by the way -- don't let anyone turn you away without voting. (If you vote provisionally, it won't get counted for a few days, but that's because it will be carefully checked and vetted.)
Thank you, all of you, for what you've accomplished, even if all you could do was to vote. You are what makes this country the greatest one on the planet.
Steve and Ellen Hill are canvassing in North Carolina and live in Silicon Valley—that’s dedicated. Fun to see friends in today’s newsletter!
We left it all on the field. Time to light the candles, burn some sage, and pray to all the gods…

You are a very great man. Jill and Jessica are very great. I am thankful for, and grateful to, you all. Bless you.

Cute bunch! And for a second it looked like Kamala was there with you (her face on T-shirts). Thanks for sharing all of this energizing material.
I do not know of any two people who have done more to preserve this precious democracy than Jill and yourself. I am extremely thankful.
