For the postcard writers out there, I received an email from the Center for Common Ground yesterday. (I have written postcards for their "Reclaim Our Vote" postcard campaigns in NC and VA). It included this "heads up" message
"ROV will launch our first postcard campaign – for the Wisconsin Supreme Court Race – at the end of the month! More soon".
"Reclaim Our Vote is a grassroots, primarily volunteer-run campaign that focuses on increasing BIPOC voter turnout through post-carding, texting, and phone banking. Working with local, on-the-ground partners and our Democracy Centers, we build effective, respectful, and relevant campaigns that engage BIPOC voters around upcoming elections.
Through our get-out-the-vote work, we provide early voting locations and times, voter registration deadlines, information for free rides to the polls, and phone numbers for county election officials."

As a young boy, I used to look up at the night sky and wonder how far it extended and what was my significance in the universe. Where was heaven and God’s home, and did anything that occurred here on earth really matter. Now, every day, I look at Hubbell’s beautiful Daily Dose of Perspective photographs and wonder pretty much the same thing. I enjoy reflecting on the photos as much as reflecting on the issues we create and appreciate Mr. Hubbell's efforts.
My heart is in fear for Chicago, I think Trump picked this city because Governor Pritzger stood up to him and he has always used Chicago as a place to emphasize his racism. Illinois is after all a blue state. God help the people there.
The example you cite is one of pure extortion. In fact the entire country is being held in the unholy embrace of do this or say this the way we want or we will make your life miserable.
It's time to define in common terms what is happening to us. For instance what Kennedy is saying about Salk and other vaccines is homicidal. What Trump did to discourage masks was homicidal. Climate denial is homicidal. Scaring people who disagree with you is reckless endangerment and should be punishable by law. Trump and his cultists and sycophants are creating an atmosphere of fear. You do and say what we want or someone will get you.
Let's call it out for what it is and in specificity, not labels such as fascist.
I always appreciate your calm, steady advice and explanations. I am in this fight for the long haul. Yes, I’m tired and sometimes I’m discouraged, but what choice do we have? We must continue to fight to preserve democracy for our children and grandchildren, and for the world. I will never give up.
I'm now making daily calls to lthe offices of Jodi Ernst, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski. Can anyone make suggestions of other senators that have a conscience?
