ππHere's what ChatGPT told me. Enjoy! ππ
Of course! Authentic sarcasm is a form of communication that combines humor and irony to convey a message while still being genuine and sincere. Here are a few examples of how Democrats might incorporate authentic sarcasm into their social media messages while focusing on issues:
Climate Change:
"Hey climate change deniers, it's totally cool to ignore the overwhelming scientific consensus and let our planet roast like a marshmallow! Who needs polar ice caps anyway? ππ #Sarcasm #SaveThePlanet"
Healthcare:
"Sure, we love paying ridiculous medical bills! It's like Christmas every time we get one! ππΈ Let's keep this 'great' healthcare system intact! #Sarcasm #AffordableHealthcare"
Student Debt:
"Student loans are fantastic! We're just helping banks buy yachts while we drown in debt. π’π° But hey, education isn't important, right? #Sarcasm #StudentDebtCrisis"
Income Inequality:
"Why fix income inequality? Let's just let the rich keep getting richer while the rest of us perfect the art of ramen noodles. ππ° #Sarcasm #FairEconomy"
Gun Control:
"Guns for everyone, everywhere! We definitely need more firepower in schools and bars, right? π³π« #Sarcasm #GunControlNow"
Criminal Justice Reform:
"Let's keep packing prisons like sardines and pretend rehabilitation isn't a thing. Orange is the new black, right? ππ #Sarcasm #JusticeReform"
Remember, the key to using authentic sarcasm effectively is to keep the message short, humorous, and relatable to the target audience. The goal is to provoke thought and stimulate discussions on important issues while staying true to the party's stance.
Thank you, Cathy. I love relatable sarcasm. In our family sarcasm is called βIrish Ironyβ. We employ it regularly and your post arms me with new artillery for the year ahead.
This is brilliant!!! So how do you get this to the DNC, and all the other D's that are going to be messaging??? Please!!! PS Forgive my ignorance but what is ChatGPT? Thank you!!
OK here's my attempt:
Thank God for Christian Nationalism! When Jesus said Love your neighbor like the Good Samaritan, I thought he meant everybody. But I only have to love other Christians. What a relief!
Excellent sarcasm of "Christian Nationalism". Certainly isn't the love your neighbor definition of Christianity!
ChatGPT is an AI app developed by OpenAI. GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. It is programmed to answer your questions and it is rather amazing! It even has ethics programming in it. Please mention the Washington Post Opinion piece by
Celinda Lake and Mac Heller:
Opinion 2024 wonβt be a Trump-Biden replay. You can thank Gen Z for that.
The last paragraph gives advice on talking with Gen Z voters:
"Meet young voters where they are: on social media, not cable news. Make your messages short, funny and somehow sarcastic yet authentic and earnest at the same time. Your focus should be issues first, issues second, candidates third and party identity never.
So, I asked ChatGPT to give me some examples. This is the response which I think is marvelous! Here's the link that gives you access:
Yes, you are allowed to share your conversations at ChatGPT. I'm not sure how ChatGPT makes sure they aren't using copyrighted material but I assume they watch that.
I asked ChatGPT if the answer it gave me came from a particular website. Here is the answer. "As an AI language model, I don't have direct access to my training data or know where it came from. However, I was trained on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. OpenAI, the organization behind my development, has not publicly disclosed the specifics of the individual datasets used, including whether data from specific websites was used." So a bit vague on the training data but it does say licensed or public. Interesting.
"The examples I provided were generated based on my understanding of the given prompt and my training on a diverse range of internet text, which includes social media platforms, news articles, blogs, and other sources. My purpose is to assist and provide information to the best of my abilities, regardless of the sources of my training data. Well according the the GOP Leaders of Florida, its not climate change that is the issue for insurance companies in FL and increased home insurance for their citizens. It is because the companies are "woke"!
I'm at the point where the crisis of democracy and the peaceful transfer of power need to be "lovingly" drilled into people's heads. If they don't "wake up" and VOTE now, their right to do so will be taken away.
So this phrase from the Classic/Iconic movie PHILADELPHIA has come to mind.

Great comment Cathy. I've been thinking this past week that there is a wealth of talent available to craft "short, humorous, sarcastic" messages for Democrats. Democrats need to utilize all the talent that's available...and show AI that it might be good, but if you want great, you need professional writers!
Any Biden staff willing to reach out and hire those fantastic striking comedy writers? Please do!!! It will be the closest their fans will get to the jokes we miss on Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" and Jimmy Kimmel's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" And if the ads are as good as I believe they will be, I wouldn't be surprised if people retweet them in the multi-millions.
Mr. Hubbell, This post is an example of why your postings have become one of our Substack morning wake-up reads along with Dr. Richardsonβs and Ms Vanceβs. Then over coffee, the Daily Docket provides a glimpse of the battle field and Prevail, and TCinLA spice up the day with historic insight and sarcastic humor. I would imagine Hunter Biden has a good lawyer. Distributing non-consensual sexual imagery is called revenge porn. My understanding is that revenge porn is illegal in 48 states and the District of Columbia. and violations are punishable by fines or up to three years in prison.
Let's hope something finally happens to that horrid excuse for a human being.
If I read Robert's description of events correctly, it appears that Hunter Biden was not the "distributor" of said images. Weren't the photographs taken off of his computer by others who saw and spread information about its private contents after the 90 days when he didn't pick it up at the repair place? The revenge aspect is apparently by them against Hunter and President Biden.
Regarding having sexual pictures on a private computer, I don't think there is a law in this country against being stupid or doing something stupid. I also don't think that being an addict makes someone a "horrid excuse for a human being."
If I have misread Lynn's post, I apologize. Regardless, I stand by feeling sadness and compassion for having Hunter's addiction and stupid, careless choices dragged through the press and now onto the floor of the House of Representatives, then posted online by MTG. It must make his struggle to stay clean all the harder.
That said, I think he's a s__t to reject his daughter, as has been reported. How's that for being judgemental? I am not immune to making uninformed assessments of someone else's behavior. I don't even know Hunter Biden.
I am proud of President Biden, who clearly loves his son, and is trying to do his best for his troubled son.
I think Lynn was referring to Marjorie Taylor Greene as "that horrible excuse of a human being" and suggesting that Hunter Biden's lawyer should sue her for distributing revenge porn. ??
Yes Hermine. I thought my thoughts were pretty apparent as a response to what Robert had reported regarding MTG's antics in the House this week.
I will accept your apology regarding your misunderstanding of my comments. It was a pretty big stretch to turn my comments around as you did . I have nothing but compassion for Hunter in the life that he's been dealt with the loss of a mother and a brother as he has. I also do not sit in judgement over the situation with his daughter. I find that to be none of my business.
Thank you Susan. Yes, I was most certainly referring to MTG being punished for her exploitation of such intensely personal material. She is nothing short of disgusting. There is something wrong with that woman's brain.
President Biden shows us daily what it is to be a good and kind person, as well as a loving father. It is a comfort to me that he is Commander in Chief and we have to do everything in our power to make sure he maintains that role in 2024. This country needs the moral compass that he can provide.
Thanks for your explanation, Lynn. I certainly did misunderstand your comments.
As for personal matters being personal, I don't understand the prurient obsessions of Republicans in government into the private lives of Americans. Remember the Clinton impeachment hearings? It's only gotten worse. I really think it was better when there was a basic agreement that some private matters were left alone.
I saw a wonderful ad the other day. A couple in their bedroom, reaching for a condom in their bedside table, and looking up in surprise to find a man in their bedroom. "I'm your Republican member of Congress," the man announced, "and I'm here to make sure you don't break the law." Something like that. It felt eerily possible.
It's difficult for me to comprehend people making negative comments about Hunter Biden's daughter. Some things are private, reminds me of people who thought Hillary should divorce Bill -- It's Her Business, not ours. In WI one of our representatives (can't remember who exactly) stated a woman's health was an issue between she, her doctor & her government representative. Not far from your condom ad.
It is my understanding the the mother of Hunter Bidenβs daughter set the rules asking/requiring Hunter not to have any contact with the daughter and Hunter is honoring her wishes for the time being.
Sadly I cannot find the source where I read this tidbit.
My understanding is that statements or actions performed by Congresscreatures on the floor of Congress are exempt from legal prosecution. Unfortunately.
It sounds like this was not limited to a display on the House floor as she also sent it out in an email blast that may be potentially viewed by minors.
Robert, you deserve a hero medal for your sharp observation that " . . . Donald Trump was 'the government' in October of 2020 when Twitter briefly suppressed the NYPost story."
Agree, Larry. Often these days when a story hits about what the DOJ or FBI, etc., did or said, I stop and think "whose DOJ or FBI was it that did or said that?"
Clarence Darrow once said that "I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great relish." I can think of about 20 obituaries I'd love to be reading nowadays, and yes, they're all Republicans. Like Harry Truman pointed out back in 1948, "The only 'good Repuiblicans' are pushing up daisies." May there be many more!
The GOP filled the swamp instead of draining it, and they introduced some new reptilian species we have never seen before outside of a circus side-show.
Allow me, a swamp is a living organism serving a vital ecological importance. I have used cesspool instead of swamp! Having had to backfill one in my younger days, the difference is clear!
Thanks, Louis! There was just a round of applause for your comment from the "residents" of the Everglades. A swamp is a vital part of nature. It can be a filter and a nursery.
Cesspool is indeed better. "Leech Field" works as well (sic).
With deference to and reverence for swamps, a critical part of our eco-system, we should work hard to ensure the extinction of the most vile of creatures, the Congressional Propa-gator!
Let me make sure I understand: The GQP, who believes in banning books that have anything to do with sex or race, lest their pitiful white children become uncomfortable, has no problem sending a reprobate named MTG to Congress, where she shows private, pornographic photos of Hunter Biden to the entire House and anyone watching on TV, possibly even white children. Where are the Moms for Liberty???? They should be yelling outside the Capitol to remove MTG for indoctrinating young minds, as well as old minds, who had to see something totally irrelevant to the issue at hand (which was also irrelevant to the governance of this country). Funny what triggers their outrage. Itβs never truly outrageous comments, ideas, or photos. When did the inmates get control of the asylum????
It's wonderful that the Biden campaign is running that Margie Green clip as an ad. They ought to continue to do so, on all media, right down to November next year.
Just a quick note about Chuck Grassleyβs antics: Democrats control the Senate. They should move to censure him for violating the terms under which he viewed the FBI form. Two can play at that game.
I think it would be interesting to analyze what lack of upbringing gave form to the stupidity and gross misbehavior of the MAGA mob. Was it the public's insistence on defunding our public schools, foregoing civics and the arts in order to lower state taxes? Was it the love of money in our consumerist society, the desire to own more than our friends and neighbors? What was it?
Yes. It feels like the worst elements of behavior have been taught rather than respecting each other and honoring our institutions. It's as if there have been courses in "How to Bully" - when you have nothing else to offer.
And this behavior does seem to reek of desperation. After all, most of Biden's policies and legislative accomplishments are wildly popular. Hence the pathetic low blows.
I think it's post-schooling adult adulation of right-wing fearmongers. Plus, a primal desire to protect their vanishing white supremacy. Just an educated guess from a person who grew up in a poor community, escaping only because a kind public high school counselor saw promise and engineered a major college scholarship package. Saved -- and made -- my life.
I just read a newsletter from our Massachusetts State Senator that we are one of only two states that do not have a law making βrevenge pornβ a crime. That raises the question for me, does D.C. or even Georgia have such a law? Could Marjorie Taylor Greene be arrested for breaking the law? Arrest would be a fitting punishment for such despicable behavior.
If MTG did it on the floor of Congress, she cannot be prosecuted. Congress has legally exempted itself from anything Congresscreatures do on the floor of Congress.
Thank you for that information! I didn't know they could make themselves above the law! How disappointing. But, sending the image out through her email list was not done on the floor of the house. Would that qualify?
I suspect that 100% of those who laughed at the Hunter Biden photo - and who support MTG - are bonafide "church goers" who preach "family values". The hypocrisy is mind bending. And sadly, it's consistent.
As the mother of two adult children I can say unequivocally that the culture aims to turn them into good followers. I recently found an article that posits that killer whale mothers stay alive an average of 22 yrs after they stop being fertile and that their offspring have less wounds from fights. (this is how it was measured) This and that whale mothers have escorts (not the father) after they have their offspring in Hawaii to return to the arctic with them and their babies. Unless you show your depth as a human being you cannot expect your children to show theirs. Contempt for other human beings cannot be met with more contempt. You have to point out that you young person needs to evaluate their own actions: is this now between them and another person (leveraging)? How would this other person receive this action or non action? Personal responsibility in every case means an adult becomes an adult. Also, I forwarded this to my child. People can't change things alone, or in one gasp. It takes lots of work. Being older means wisdom, knowing this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NeQK9HJIvg Navalny's closing comments at his trial. Navalny is a lawyer. theonion.com is really a good laugh
I listened to the brave people reading Navalnyβs speech. Quite compelling...they want peace and democracy, like us. The Onion article on MGT was great!
I would call the Republicans fiasco βThis Week That Wasβ. Anyone remember this tv show with David Frost? They really revealed just how nasty, disgusting, immature, and vile they can be. So letβs call the last 7 days: Shit Week!

Great comment Cathy. I've been thinking this past week that there is a wealth of talent available to craft "short, humorous, sarcastic" messages for Democrats. The striking writers from shows like Colbert and Kimmel are fantastic at political humor! And from what I could quickly research, writing political ads would not violate their union agreement.

I don't know if this meets the definition, or if perhaps it lowers the bar too far, but here goes:
"To Greene, Comer, McCarthy, Gaetz, Boebert, Jordan, Tuberville, et. al., I offer the blessings of ST. FUYA: 'Shut The F*** Up You A**holes!"
Don't forget Commandant Tuberville!

WTF?!?!? YES, censure at the very least! And they complain about the FBI....
Censure β yes ! β but *on principle*, not because two can play some game.

Desperation, perhaps. But maybe also glee at βcleverlyβ verbally inflicting pain.
Yes, it would qualify. Even in Congress, it's so extreme, it may not be protected speech. That would likely require a ruling from SCOTUS.
My thoughts exactly Sarah. She is such a worthless POS.
I suspect that 100% of those who laughed at the Hunter Biden photo - and who support MTG - are bonafide "church goers" who preach "family values". The hypocrisy is mind bending. And sadly, it's consistent.
I've had many thoughts about
MTG...none of them pleasant.
She is a rude, foul mouthed,
morally disgusting woman,
who drags her π© all over the
People's House. That she's
enabled by the rest of the GOP makes them as morally
corrupt.
The Onion article on MGT was great!
yes, someone has a nice bum
Sublime and Ridiculous all in one place...very good, Kelly!
Thank you for the links! However, the picture in the onion does a disservice to the model whose body was photoshopped!
The Onion has quite a few funnies. Great ππ³ for the morning.
there's also 'After Life' on netflix - funnies not real life politics crosses all kinds of lines
I would call the Republicans fiasco βThis Week That Wasβ. Anyone remember this tv show with David Frost? They really revealed just how nasty, disgusting, immature, and vile they can be. So letβs call the last 7 days: Shit Week!
TWTWTW π€
Also known as TW3. I remember it well.
