What the hell am I going to do tomorrow night? These four nights have been so fabulous, so exciting, so uplifting. WOW!

I feel your pain...we will get out and work to be sure she's in the White House in Jan. as President.

There's work to be done, as Michelle Obama and Oprah said...DO SOMETHING!!!

My hubby and I are working on our latest batches of Blue Wave postcards. When we get them in the mail, that will make 2,100 cards thus far—and we’re not slowing down, and we’re not going back!

My wife ordered and we just received an order of Kamala Caps and T Shirts, but I don't get it a picture of a Cats face followed by La (Catla). I am waiting for a lawn sign , large with a Photo of Kamala and under it Madam President.

The first time in my 85 years that I will be voting for, over and above voting against.

2016 and 2020 were votes against Trump, not for Hillary or Biden.

I most remember the first one I voted for. Will never forget shaking JFK’s hand as he deplaned in Sioux Falls, SD.

Expand full comment

Those two experiences are so opposite from each other. I hit the like button on your shaking JFK's hand. Then I saw the about the day he was shot, and I had to unlike because of that. I have a clear memory of that day, but I was only 10, and staying overnight at my best friend's house, which was a big deal. The next day was the first time I ever saw my mother cry--when she was driving me home from my best friend's house.

I am concentratingon postcards for NC (where I live), but I'm on the mailing list for Blue Wave and their frequency of announcing new campaigns is definitely accellerating - grassroots volunteers are gobbling up each batch of postcards fresh off the presses!

Last night on FT 6 textbanking, sent 67,000 texts to NV, FL, and AZ! Today, 6-8 ET/3-5 PT, texting Montanans and registering more Dems!

Next Thursday text MI, NY, and WI- to buy a token for a future Text Arcade, https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ft6arcade24

At the same time we BYOP. I sent mine to FL and WI yesterday.

Meanwhile FT 6 phone banking calls the same population of unregistered folk who trend Democratic. About 1 MM in FL alone. Those folks are waiting to hear from us.

I'm a novice re post cards. How does Blue Wave work? How do you know what to order? Are labels provided? Can you get help with the cost of stamps?

Expand full comment

Blue Wave postcards are pre-printed with all the info necessary -- website to visit to check your registration, register, or re-register, etc. -- and a pro-democracy message on the front. They're colorful cards, and well designed. They also come with pre-printed labels! And you can buy postcard stamps from them, too. They can also provide help with the cost of stamps. They've got it goin' on!

Expand full comment

Hope you got info. I use Active America. Look for their website. Sign up. Then you can choose from several campaigns. Don't know about help with stamps.

Yes!

I was missing the excitement and energy of the recent Olympics and then the DNC occurred and filled the gap. Wow!

This excitement for Kamala Harris at the DNC is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in politics.

Kamala's acceptance of the Democratic nomination marks a historic milestone and sets a powerful tone for the campaign. It's going to go down in history as one of the most important ever!

I’m donating more tonight and challenge everyone to do what they can!

Also, I ordered this funny "Kamala removes stubborn orange stains" t-shirt too 👇 🤣

“Democracy knows no party … it separates us from tyranny.” - Adam Kinzinger

Expand full comment

Adam was great. Panetta also really hit a chord. whoever the organizers were for this convention were brilliant! They have reached out and touched all of us.

Expand full comment

Seems like a whole bunch of Republicans talked at this convention! There's hope! The message of USA first, parties second--so inspiring.

Expand full comment

Donald is a Fascist and a Putin lover. He has little if anything to do with being a Republican as most of us have understood the term.

Expand full comment

I couldn’t agree more. It was fabulously produced. Every speaker added a different twist- music, tears, humor, sincerity, heartbreak, and…optimism!!💜

Expand full comment
founding

I totally agree!!! The organizing was incredible and did not miss a thing! And there was such a short time to put it all together!! Brilliant!!

Expand full comment

I love Adam Kinzinger!

Expand full comment

He is a brave man!

Expand full comment

Kinzinger's "Democracy knows no party" was my first takeaway. Second was when Kamala said, "We have so much more in common than our differences," which underscored all the Big Tent inclusion of the past month (Republicans for Harris!) and the diversity of Democratic movers and shakers at the DNC.

However mad I was at Nancy Pelosi for stepping out of her lane, I suspect she took readings and was concerned, had an acute perception of possibility, and engineered it to make it happen--this momentous movement we are witnessing, and that each of us is doing our part to really make it happen on Nov. 5!

Expand full comment

I don’t understand how folks can be mad at Pelosi — I was ridin’ with Biden but see now that he didn’t have it and would have been crushed. I’m grateful to those in the party who persuaded or pressured Joe to withdraw. And I salute Joe for a great presidency and the courage to step away.

Expand full comment

Not just the step away, but the way he orchestrated this switch and the timing! It was brilliant! Look at us. We are all on the same page for once!!!!

Expand full comment

I shared what some of your readers are describing: fury at Nancy P for backing away from Biden. Clearly she knew more than we did and understood that the party needed a different candidate- which was clearly Kamala- in order to give us the best chance against Trump. that he would struggle to defeat Trump.

Expand full comment

I was not as angry at Nancy as much as I am still mad at Adam Schiff. He was the first one to throw Biden a nasty curve!

Expand full comment

Pelosi just saw this dilemma with Dianne Feinstein, and that is an instance where it would have been kinder to Feinstein's memory if she had resigned well before she died. There may not be an easy way to make generational transitions when the retiring generation has such deep experience that they experience themselves as essential.

And it’s the women leading the way. Righting the imbalanced ship.

Annoyed with my CO senators and Congress rep who spoke publically against Biden ... and that none of them were speaking at DNC or there it seemed.

My generation asked "Where were you when Kennedy was shot?" In 50 years my kids will ask their friends "Where were you when Kamala was nominated?' Now we need to make sure that they can also ask "Where were you when Kamala was sworn in as the 47th president?" Let's do the work to get her elected and elect her the Senate and House to allow her make her agenda a reality. GO Kamala!!!

I think we've been sold spin and image for so long that we have forgotten the beauty of authenticity. It is refreshing.

All I can say is she must have been a heck of a prosecutor. Those skills would be extremely valuable in keeping a jury engaged.

Expand full comment

She was and I (and Robert) can attest to that. She never backed down from a fight and often that was with police departments when she was prosecutor for San Francisco. The officers weren’t crazy about her. It was rather exciting to see a sheriff and a chief officer bring praises for Kamala.

Kamala is impressive. No doubt she will protect democracy here and around the globe and bring joy to all. Trump brings nothing but degradation, fear, chaos and vulnerability. I have loved and been proud of every moment of the convention. Yet, during the down time when CSPAN took questions from callers, not one independent or Republican I heard call in said they were switching their vote.
