In my mind, it is important that we succeed in November not just to defeat Trump, but to hopefully slow down if not stop the Heritage Society’s Plan 2025.
“Sooner or later, Jack Smith will be forced to seek an order from the 11th Circuit removing Judge Cannon. It will happen; it is only a matter of time.” Cannot happen soon enough.
Last night Lawrence O’Donnell is his opening segment talked about Trump and his comments in Dayton Ohio over the weekend. In his statements O’Donnell nailed it when he said that Donald Trump traffics in fear. He wants you and everyone to fear him. He has been very successful fear mongering with Republican legislators. If we allow Trump to put fear in our minds and hearts then he has won. As Roosevelt once said many years ago which applies today “ we have nothing to fear but fear itself”. The “ bloodbath “ won’t happen because even the most advent Trump fan doesn’t want to go to jail like the January 6th rioters. Raising tariffs on cars imported won’t happen either and many foreign car manufacturers already produce cars and parts in our country. Trump is desperate and it is showing but all of us everyday in many ways need to have faith and work to get the truth and facts out there. Watch the O’Donnell clip.
I continue to be grateful to Robert for sharing his knowledge and insights with us. There’s no “spin.” I like candor and humility and ethical behavior. I say this in the aftermath of being hurt by someone I trusted. It happens. We all know that. But I also know I am more and more surrounded by truly good people. Trump’s legal strategy is identical to his political one, “flood the zone with shit.” It’s what he’s always done in court: delay until they’re worn out. If we can beat him in November, it won’t matter, and he’ll get his. Yet another reason that failure is not an option.
Judge Cannon must be removed ASAP. She is a thorn in the side of justice. Do you think anything can be done to remove her? I am still so pessimistic that TFG will get any trial appearances before the election and you are right as always that the ballot box is the only way to get rid of the orange cancer. !!!
At least the entire Kennedy clan [except for the idiotic, can he also be narcissistic? anti-vaxxer Kennedy who may be a stalking horse for Trump] stood on the White House steps with President Biden in support of him and as a rebuke to their selfish kin.
I am not a criminal law attorney. Is it “normal” for a judge to request proposed charges before a trial date is even set? I used to try federal civil cases, and I also worked for a judge in state court. I don’t recall ever being asked or asking attorneys to submit proposed jury charges before a trial date is even set. Proposed charges and verdict sheets depend on the presentation of evidence. That order is just insane but the timing of it is ridiculous as well.
Optics matter a great deal in most circumstances. My optic meter tells me trump is clearly living inside the prison of his own mind. The imprisonment he has created himself is pure karma. Take comfort in knowing his capacity for any sort of decent mental hygiene is long gone. His is a life sentence for which escape is virtually impossible. His “wall” is paid for by the sale of his soul to all consuming narcissism and greed. The best part of trump ran down his father’s leg!
What more does it take for Jack Smith to seek to remove the "judge" from the case? Once the jury is seated it's game over. It is difficult enough to find an open-minded jury in Florida but with a "judge" openly siding with the defendant it is all too easy to allow one or two jurors to resort to 'reasonable doubt'. And if anything else fails she can always construe some pretext to declare a mistrial.
"We don't have to win every battle, just most of them." So true. And our only path forward. Regarding Judge Misfire in Ft Pierce, you wrote "The order is evidence of either willful ignorance or manifest corruption." My money is on the latter. It's an in-kind loan to the Trump Campaign. To be repaid when Trump appoints the next AG or Circuit Judge (I just can't be believe that the Supreme Court is on the table for such a numnut).
