I am always impressed with a man who shines a light on his wife. It shows a) his good judgement in selecting a wonderful mate; b) his self-confidence and sense of security in knowing that bestowing praise on others doesn't subtract from his own worth. You obviously have a fabulous marriage. Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations! 60 years! We are also celebrating our 36th anniversary on August 16th. Seems August is a popular month for tying the knot.

Awesome! Congratulations, Michael.

The issues surrounding the search aren't that complicated: Trump stuffed something that didn't belong to him in his drawers, walked away with it, and got caught. When the authorities get wise, the cops show up. As you note, anyone else would be in jail. That's the part that needs explaining.

Congratulations!! What a love story! It’s no wonder you have such a positive outlook on life!

Celebrate with joy and rest--it seems to me you are both very lucky and loyal people who know a good thing when they see it. I always say that first grade is when a child first job begins, and when they begin to have a life of their own, where one's parents are still important, but at the periphery.

Also, a fine post!

Congratulations to you both! In this day and age, 41 years is an achievement to be admired.

Not to diminish your enjoyment of it, but here is something I am hoping you will address after your mini vacay.

On Trump‘s media he posted today “it is all so out of control, great simmering anger!“ When is this guy going to be shut down? That statement is nothing more than an incitement.

Incitement is right. I suspect the FBI won't ignore online threats this time around.

His great simmering anger is a threat. But he’s not the only one. Mine has been boiling over for years, but I keep a lid on for my country. He won’t. Buckle up

Absolutely right. He somehow lacks that impulse control. The question that has no answer, for me at least, is how in the name of everything, did this country elect someone like that? It's not as if the mental illness was hidden and discovered later. It was right out there, on parade, from the beginning. Actually from way back. He was a spectacle and a known con artist in NY. I can actually remember when he was just a bad joke. Hard to figure out how we managed to be so oblivious that we let this happen.

Six years old💚I m ever inspired to read of such devoted love. You two are blessed to have each other. Heaven must have been perfectly aligned when you were both six. My heart sings for the two of you and your family. 🥰

For those of you trying to make sense of the Mar-a-Lago search, just remember: If Obama had taken one item labelled "Confidential" (the lowest level of classification), Jim Jordan, Josh Hawley, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Ted Cruz would have insisted on lynching him then giving him 20 years in jail, even if the item was the White House dinner menu that was mis-classified. If Obama had taken boxes of Top Secret/SCI documents, those Republicans would have lynched Obama's entire family. In Trump's case, DOJ and National Archives gave Trumpsky over a year to return the items, and then he couldn't restrain himself: he kept some documents and lied about it. If anything, Garland has been overly fair and considerate of tRump, and cut him slack at every turn.

Donald Trump now reminds me of Golum in Lord of the Rings, huddled underground, clutching the Ring of Power, muttering to himself, "Mine. My precious." And just like the creature Golum, Trump is both pathetic and dangerous. I think we're close to cornering a madman and we had better be ready for the worst

We celebrate your milestone! Enjoy. And thank you for your gift of these words which apply to marriage and life!

“ Even when our actions seem futile in the moment, our defeated efforts add to the duff of the forest floor to become fertile soil for future endeavors. Every effort is worthy, without regard to its immediate success or failure.”

When people leave a job they are usually required to return proprietary records to the company they worked for. The records, clients, trade secrets, patents, etc., belong to the company not the employee.

Whether or not Trump was "allowed to bring work home" is a moot point. Those documents belong to America, not Trump. Those documents do not belong in the home of someone not in the employ of the U.S. Government. They belong somewhere they could be stored by people who know how to handle company and trade secrets. Trump knows this. Why else does he have employees of his own organizations sign loyalty and NDAs? As usual it's the 3 year old "not me." It's always blame someone or something else.

Congrats on your anniversary! Re the Trump documents issue, I’m surprised no one (as far as I know) has raised the question of why Trump moved documents. He is well known to be averse to reading even a page or two of briefing notes—so for whose benefit were the actions taken? Was it an effort to hide incriminating information? Was a third party given access? Curiouser and curiouser.
