Dan Goldman doesn't need to be pushed. But lots of Goldmans (or Raskins, or AOCs, or, or,or) need to be elected so they can make a difference. Same in the Senate where, of course, the first item on the agenda should be getting rid of the undemocratic filibuster.

Stefan, of course he needs to be pushed! He has done very little to move on the recusal idea other than write a nice academic letter to Clarence. (Unless you know something to the contrary?) Flooding our reps with directions about what we want gives them the fuel to escalate certain things while back-burnering others. Our representatives are sent to Congress, not to fulfill their own fantasies (MAGA reps notwithstanding), but to do our will. I don't in any sense mean to criticize Goldman. But he can be a powerful tool, backed by our vociferous urging, to bring the need for Clarence to recuse himself to the forefront of Americans' minds. It's not there now. (As a long-term goal, of course we need to elect more Goldmans, if we still have a democracy within which to do that.) But getting Clarence recused is an urgent short-term need. Alito too.
