Wonderful statue! I also was heartened to hear the 50501 people said we reached 11 million yesterday in the protests. 3.5% is about 12 million, so we are on the real threshold of being able to exact the needed change. I feel we should be holding banners that say "no taxation without representation" in the red states, where the congressional reps are refusing to hold town halls. The big bomb blast bill must be defeated. No more money for Ice, as well as protect our safety net and healthcare! I was on an overpass an hour north of LA, where traffic slows, and they have time to look up and read the NO KINGS sign! We have a great opportunity, where there are bridges over the freeway, to reach thousands of people in cars, going by underneath us. Not too many signs is better-- one focal point!

In Madison, Wisconsin there were 15,000 people and 50 other protests around the state.

Now that the protests are covered by lots of media, think of the audience we want to reach with the signs.

Here's some strategy advice and you can get to Antonia's blog "Reframing America" for the article at the bottom of this infographic...https://infogram.com/protest-strategy-manage-the-optics-1h9j6q783q1mv4g

Great protest for No Kings Day in Porto Portugal. They read the declaration of I dependence which is eerily pertinent today. A Portugues man spoke of the threat of right wing and anti democratic tech billionaires in Europe.

If you didn't see this before, here is a Substack pollster, Elliott Morris, with self reported numbers of protestors from cities and towns all over the U.S.

At the moment, 11PM on Sat night, the count is only at 2.7 million, fewer than the final Hands Off estimates at 5 million. Hope it increases by several million as time goes on...

I wish we could get to the 3.5% or 11-12 million of our U.S. 345 million population ASAP.

It was great there had to be at least 1000 people there. The signs were uplifting. All of one mind except for one idiot walking around saying Trump is my president and just repeating it. No violence at all

I carried my flag as well as a sign in Pasadena this afternoon.

As far as “what’s next,” it seems to me to make sense to demonstrate again nationally on the Fourth of July. Last Thursday Leah and Ezra of Indivisible on their weekly Zoom call didn’t encourage people to set up demonstrations then, essentially because they hadn’t done it before and they thought people would prefer to kick back at a barbecue and fireworks. But it seems to me that we have to keep the attention on the people who love democracy and take the opportunity to further “take back the flag” by showing up whenever there’s any day that is special to our fellow Americans. National holidays are the best times and Independence Day is the best holiday to celebrate the founding principles of our country and the birth of American freedom.

How do I send you a photo of the NO Kings Rally I attended?

I have just come back from the No Kings Rally in Monterey CA. It was inspirational, exciting and 100% peaceful. I am pleased to report that it looked like it was at least 3 times larger than the April 6 rally which impressed me by the. numbers of people showed up . To put your mind at ease Robert that the tragedy in Minnesota earlier will frighten people, it did just the opposite. I heard the comment from several people that the events of the last few days just heightened their resolve to keep on attending rallies

Hello from Pittsburgh - had 2,000 strong at our No Kings rally. We will not be silenced in the face of corruption and tyranny.

So proud of Carlisle, PA! Strong showing at No Kings Rally. Not great at guessing crowd size but at least 400 enthusiastic attendees of all ages. A few counter protestors, including a couple of trucks that covered their license plates and spewed exhaust. Otherwise very fun. Revived my spirit. Attended with my son.

Was mostly impressed with my local 7pm KDKA news coverage just now. They briefly mentioned the DC Parade and gave negative comments more than positive about it. They covered Pittsburgh protests with actual audio of crowds and speakers, and also in nearby Washington County. Interviewd a few too many Trumpers for my liking (abt 3). But this was better than what local cbs coverage normally is, so I'll take it.

Showed Up in Traverse City Michigan with about 4000 other caring people. All were pumped up to do their civic duty and to do it peacefully. That’s not sexy enough for media to cover, so I want to make sure I post about it with as many substack as possible. All over my State of Michigan, in large cities and small towns, there were caring people who Showed Up! It was great to be a part of!!!!
