I am taking the night off as part of a holiday weekend vacation. I hope each of you can take time during the holiday to rest, renew, and recharge. To all who expressed frustration or despair in response to the Supreme Court’s rulings on Friday, don’t be discouraged! We can fix it. We will fix it. We simply need to be bold enough to act when we take back the House and expand our margin in the Senate.

There's been a lot of fretting about the current bunch of SCOTUS rulings. I found the comment of David Brooks on the PBS NewsHour to be quite appealing. He suggested that since Universities are now blocked from basing admissions on race through affirmative action, they could admit students on the basis of household income. That would favor not only poor Black students, but students of all minorities.
