This short note opens the Comments section to all on Sunday morning.
I am republishing (below) the video interview of Drew Kromer, Chair of the Democratic Party in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. If you haven’t watched it, I urge you to do so. As I wrote yesterday,
I guarantee that if you invest the time to watch (or listen to) the video embedded above, it will educate, motivate, and inspire you. It will encourage you to help get out the vote by canvassing, texting, and phone banking. Most importantly, it will help mediate and control unguided anxiety about the election.
Many readers wrote in the Comments to Saturday’s newsletter that they were, indeed, educated, motivated, and inspired! I encourage you to listen to or watch the video as you enjoy your Sunday morning. It will give you a sense of the ground efforts party organizations are making nationwide, especially in Mecklenburg County, which is critical to winning North Carolina.
If Kamala Harris can win Mecklenburg County by a wide margin, her chances of winning North Carolina increase substantially. If she wins North Carolina, her chances of winning the electoral college will increase substantially—and Trump's prospects take a nose-dive.
Drew Kromer called me Saturday evening to let me know that the donations made by readers of this newsletter and Jessica Craven’s Chop Wood Carry Water in response to the video have been “transformational.” MeckDems will be able to immediately enhance their phone banking and canvassing efforts! And he said that the feeling in the field office in Mecklenburg was “electric” because staffers were overwhelmed by the show of support from nearly every state in the union!
Just as importantly, eighty readers have volunteered to canvass or phonebank in Mecklenburg!
Thanks to all for your incredible support! You are heroes!
Talk to you tomorrow!
Daily Dose of Perspective
Below is my second effort at imaging the Heart Nebula—selected for this edition of the newsletter as a show of appreciation and affection for the wonderful readers of this newsletter!
From Wikipedia, “The Heart Nebula is made up of ionised oxygen and sulfur gasses, responsible for the rich blue and orange colors . . . The shape of the nebula is driven by stellar winds from the hot stars in its core.”
Hi, All. See the links in yesterday's newsletter to donate or volunteer for MeckDems. Thanks!
