You might have heard people say that the No Kings rallies were only performative. Well, Tuesday proved that wrong. What Indivisible and the other organizations did was strengthen a movement. They did this by focusing on small towns and cities everywhere, red states and blue, and gave people the tools to organize.

Here are some wins you might have missed.

Marisa Sweeney flipped 25th District in the New Jersey assembly, held by Republicans for 48 years.

Moms for Liberty lost all of their races nationwide -- 31

In Connecticut 29 cities and towns flipped local leadership to Democrats.

In Virginia Nicole Cole defeated a 36 year incumbent for a state district House seat.

Georgetown, South Carolina flipped all 3 city council seats

We all know about the Mandani win for mayor of New York. His over 1 million votes were the most since John Lindsay was elected mayor in 1969.

Downingtown, Pennsylvania elected an out trans woman for mayor.

My favorite: Beaver County, Pennsylvania elected their first Democratic mayor in 113 years by 13 votes -- 917 to 904. The incumbent held the office for 58 years. It was a comment here that introduced me to the Beaver County Democrats. In order to cope with the results of the 2024 election I went into Christmas cookie baking mode, making over 1,000 cookies and raised over $800 for the Beaver County Dems, so their win is special for me.

Tuesday proved that If we do the work, we have a good chance of winning everywhere, even in red states. Probably not every time, but enough, and each cycle there will be more.

I intended it to say FOOD FOR ALL, but I ran out of time, also was doing it solo and wanted to catch the Friday rush hour leaving the city (and dealing w pesky time change, too). So I went out with a banner that just said FOOD, and got some honks and waves. Found out minutes before that Oregon (also CA and WA) got 100% of Nov. SNAP benefits! Nice for some of my friends, but not great until everyone everywhere gets the food they need!!
