I read Heather Delaney Reese's post this morning, writing about today's cage match at the White House. At one point she wrote "this is what we've beome". My immediate thought was this isn’t all that we've become as a nation. I will be attending the joyous Rise Up, Sing Out watch party with dozens of the new friends I have made through our weekly protests in front of the Tesla dealership in Superior, Colorado. We have become a group of happy rebels- we sing, dance, and generally act silly as we stand against this regime. Tonight there will be tens of thousands joining in community to celebrate our opposition and our power.

May Trump's birthday bring him actual awareness of how old and daft he is.

I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the counter-programming to Trump's obscene birthday celebration (i.e., a UFC cage fight on the White House lawn) this evening.

There is an actual concert in NYC, but it is also being live-streamed on YouTube for free. There is a link to a Google Form to register on the webpage above. They will send you a link to the Live stream.

You can also go to YouTube and search for Rise Up Sing Out if you are leery about registering.

We shall overcome!!!

Even as a non-religous person, i think my favorite was "Jesus was woke." Very few words, straight to the point, and pointing out that being "woke" is GOOD.

One doesn’t need to be a religious person to acknowledge Jesus and the power of God’s Love.

The sermon on the mount, yes, but non-believers go no farther.

I beg to differ. There are many of us who have abandoned the rites of Christian worship but maintain the premises of the beatitudes. We can embrace peace, treating our fellow humans with justice and support without attending any religious ceremonies or affiliations. Narcissists have abandoned the beatitudes as well as every other belief in the dignity of others.

As the Confederacy is occupying the White House, New York City was the Nations first Capitol. I think it’s time has come again.

I think one of the best things about your daily posts is your sharing your understanding of the law and how it is the golden thread that keeps us on the right path of resistance during the loud, obnoxious, drumbeat of trumptrumptrump. It has been a sickening decade of it. We keep missing that Big Beautiful Obituary, but there is also the possibility of seeing drumpf in a jail cell with a Big Beautiful Bill.

The abomination that is the Trump,/MAGA presidency will be removed from our government. Keep the faith. IMO, our return to a country we can be proud of will be swift. The delporables who created our current malaise will be punished without pity.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the assassination of Minnesota Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, husband Mark Hortman and their dog, Gilbert, along with the attempted assassination of MN state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. Trump’s and Republican tweets and behavior the following week, with all manner of lies about it being a hit job done by leftist terrorists, were among the most despicable partisan political actions I’ve ever witnessed. Vance Boelter, the shooter, who just pled guilty to murder charges in federal court, voted for Trump. The other politicians on his hit list were all Democrats. Zero condemnation from the fascists.

Grateful to the federal judiciary who made Trump’s birthday week another losing one. I hope his celebration is an utter failure that is cancelled due to stormy weather. One more loss on top of many this week, seems fitting.

As always, these protest photos are gold! Many thanks to everyone for their continued efforts to save our democracy.

Today is Trump’s birthday. Statistically, you are most likely to die on or around your birthday. Just sayin.

Action item for today if you’re on social media…..😂

Narcissists run on attention. Starve one.

On June 14, Boston Indivisible is wishing a happy birthday to literally anything else — a sock, a sandwich, a parking meter, the squirrel that keeps eating your plants. Anything but the person who needs you to notice.

This is our quietest, friendliest act of resistance: total, cheerful indifference. Here's what to do:

Post on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or X/Twitter wishing a happy birthday to any random object, creature, or moment in your life. Use the hashtag #HappyBirthdayAnything so we can find your post and celebrate together.

That's it. No rally. No sign. Just you, your left sock, and a complete lack of interest in whoever's birthday it actually is.

Need inspiration? Here are some starter captions:

Happy birthday to the Market Basket cart with four working wheels. I think about you often. #HappyBirthdayAnything

Happy birthday to my left sock. The right one knows what it did. #HappyBirthdayAnything

Shoutout to the parking meter on Commonwealth Ave that gave me 4 extra minutes once. I think about you. #HappyBirthdayAnything

Happy birthday to my coffee, who has never let me down, lied to me, or attempted a coup. #HappyBirthdayAnything

Safe travels.

Heartened that his name was removed from the Kennedy MEMORIAL Center.

What he harmed in haste, we will repair, with determination and love.

This all stops when enough of us say no!

Trump is most vulnerable on the economy. Dems should run on a single issue: affordability. We should present a clear plan for reducing inflation.

Carol Fletez's avatar

We need a platform that's more than that. Lot's of specifics. We need to rejoin the WHO, replenish the usaid and show the world we're still a global actor for democracy. Revoke the EOs and remove parts of the BBB
