I have no idea how the date presented as 3/21/07, but my defense is that I typed it in after midnight on a long night in the desert!

While I attended the last 2 NO KINGS protests, will attend the one this Saturday, and have attended numerous smaller ones, I would like to know if our large, nationwide protests are less effective because we don't continue them day after day (as is the case in many other countries). It seems that the NO KINGS protests are too far apart. I realize that if we have the large, nationwide protests too often, people may burn out, but, to use a pun, this is a 5-alarm fire! Also, Robert continues to recommend the NO KINGS as a vehicle to use in response to all of the heinous acts by this administration. But, after this NO KINGS, there will probably be a hiatus of another 5-6 months before another one. In that time, it seems that anything else we can do (calls & letters to our Congressional Reps, phone-banking, texting, donations to candidates) might not be quite as effective as the huge protests. Thoughts?

Thanks for the beautiful photos, a much-needed dose of tranquility and perspective. And for all you fierce and lively “bridge brigadiers” out there, if you live anywhere near Interstate 35 (from Minnesota to Texas) and want to help promote No Kings, you can join #NoKingsHighway, a coordinated nationwide bridge visibility event at rush hour on Thursday, March 26th. It started with a “what if?" at Democracy Bridge in Minneapolis, and so far has at least 40 confirmed locations from Grand Marais to San Antonio! Check the Democracy Bridge website dmbr.org for more info, to find existing events on the interactive map, and to register your own group if it’s not already there. There will be a compilation video, released the next morning, to further boost the No Kings rallies and serve as a beautiful reminder of border-to-border unity.

Lovely sky photos, both of you. I do miss the western desert, and these caught some of the reason why. Loved the many photos of cheerfully determined demonstrators. Thanks for the encouragement, everybody. No overpasses in my part of VT, but lots of towns standing on corners with signs. We are building towards a BIG March 28th. My whole family is planning to be there. Our lives a bit complicated right now, but we sure want to be part of this!

Robert, So happy someone in our Indivisible group sent pics from yesterday's event. (Indivisible ReSisters Contra Costa).

I love Joshua Tree! Your photos are simply lovely.

I am very worried about the California governor race if some of these democrats running do not drop out we are going to have a republican governor. Both men would be the end of “California freedom” what can we do?

Beautiful Joshua Tree photos. Also, it was fun seeing the Santa Barbara overpass photos. I was on the La Cumbre overpass holding signs and giving a big thumb's up or shaka sign top all the southbound 101 vehicles that honked, flashed their lights or gave us the thumb's up. Over two hours I saw only 4 middle fingers. Now that's progress!!!🤣🤣🤣

Hi Robert,

What if the Dems campaign on NO impeachment? That would "appease" Trump, no? If the Dems win, and they don't impeach him they can put all this shit BEHIND them and move forward...

I don't understand. I am a subscriber, and I posted this comment, but now it is not showing...?

They must impeach. There must be at least 50 counts of impeachment. The public would get to hear them on tv and realize just who he is. And when the Republicans in the Senate save him again, it's on their record if they run again,.

The photos are STUNNING!! Thank you!

Hi Robert,

What about asking the Dems to campaign on NO impeachment? That way, Trump will be "appeased". I think that is the way to go, not because he will be appeased, but because I think the Dems need to put the past behind them, and move on. But will that put the Dems in a poor position? I would love for you to comment on this.

Thank you!

Holly

I will tell you what I think about "putting the past behind us and moving on". I am dead-set against "just moving on". That's what led to us being in the situation we're in. We failed to hold people accountable when we should have, and that created the conditions that got us here. We must NOT make that mistake this time.

With all the mendacious spin the Rethuglicans are spewing regarding the SAVE Act, I hope that Senate Dems can loudly spread the message that this is not a VOTER ID bill.....it is a voter suppression bill...it will require States to turn over their voter rolls to the Feds so that the Feds can purge eligible voters from the voter rolls and change the outcome of the election. It's bad enough that Rethuglicans are making us register to vote with piles of documents that we have already submitted to apply for the REAL ID, which does not serve as voter ID in 45 States, or a US passport, but to then purge eligible voters without even notifying us is the height of dastardly evil.

Just try and get a birth certificate from New Jersey to get a RealId. Took 3 months and I missed flights. The SAVE ACT would result in a low turnout. What Republicans want.

I used to request birth certificates for individuals who were born in the US as part of a volunteer program. My experience getting a birth certificate for an individual who was born in Manhatten, NYC took 8 months.

When this vile, despicable, sociopathic creature known as Donald Trump leaves office, and he will, we will have lots to do. One very nice and noble act would be for us to get busy renaming many of the buildings in DC. I recommend we rename the FBI building to the Robert S. Mueller Federal Bureau of Investigation.

It will do many things. Principally, communicate to the many good people serving there and that would like to have a career there that we aim to make big changes in how things are done in DC and in our country. Mr. Mueller’s name on that building will scream out that we mean business.

And it will be nice to have Donald watch as Robert Mueller’s name is erected on the very building that will be involved in his investigation and that of his family and associates. How nice.

Alisa's post (which she links to above) is well worth watching and listening to. She rereads a beautifully written obit for Mueller, and adds a thoughtful and equally beautiful commentary. Alisa's reading adds to the beauty and thoughtfulness. I hope you all will take the 15 minutes to listen, and sit with it in your heart.

Behind the Montana "maga" Curtain: Last Friday my husband and I completed our 38th week of calling M-F the local offices of our MAGA 2 senators, 2 representatives, and governor. At our last Bozeman No King's Day protest on Main Street there were 5,000. We expect 10,000 on March 28th in our small town. We will never stop fighting MAGA fascism.

You give me hope while I feel so much despair. Love your pictures of the world around us which helps put perspective into our lives.
