If people really want to turn the tables on Trump the media should make it clear what the Comey indictment is really all about. Hillary-hating FBI agents in the NYC office were furious that the FBI was investigating the Trump’s campaign’s numerous ties to Russia so they opened an investigation into the Clinton Foundation’s “corruption”. They based that investigation on claims made by Steve Bannon’s right hand henchman Peter Schweizer in his book “Clinton Cash”. Then they pressured Andrew McCabe into leaking the fact that the Clinton Foundation was under investigation by the FBI to the Wall Street Journal. When that fact was investigated by the DOJ’s IG, McCabe lied and claimed Comey had authorized that leak. Comey testified to Congress that he had not authorized it and that is the basis for this political prosecution.
I just heard the news that James Comey, is being accused of perjury, in addition to other (excuse the pun) Trumped up charges. So grotesque, when one thinks of conservative SCOTUS judges perjuring themselves during their confirmation hearings when they stated that they would respect precedent and the Constitution. I never thought I would live to see the day when the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA had "show trials" like those orchestrated under Stalin. Where are we now, as a nation, if this kind of unconstitutional overreach is tolerated?
If Comey thing comes to trial, doesn’t there have to be disclosure of information re his investigation? And could this be bad for DT perhaps with new damming information coming out?
Has there been a coordinated effort to bring Matthew Dowd back to MSNBC? I sent an email strongly disagreeing with MSNBC’s decision to fire him on the day it occurred. But, I have not seen anything about re-instating him for his “free speech” on the show.
I’ve not been pleased with MSNBC lately. Way too much Democrat bashing. It gets us nowhere and seems flippant, gossipy and not much in line with our goals.
The public protest which led to the restoration of Kimmel's show is measured in two ways. One is that the losses sustained in the markets were so great that Disney decided it was better to please the American public than to lick Trump's boots. The other is the astonishing number of people who watched Kimmel's first return show, which number doesn't include the millions who didn't tune in. These metrics should give us great confidence because those who protested are not going away and the numbers will only get larger. The metrics should also give the Republican bootlickers who are up for election next year some pause as to whether they should continue doing so.
I read a number that tuned in and then another number of those who watched it on streaming later. I don't remember where, but it was a much higher than usual number.

I have read that the republican majority can delay her confirmation, avoiding the discharge petition vote.
Each of us has our own soapbox through Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, or email. Don't forget real life conversations. Republicans are going to blame Democrats for the shutdown, but we can get out ahead of this by letting our circles know the truth, and do it now. Act instead of react.
Go ahead and preach to the choir, and get them on board. It's time we start controlling the narrative. Look at how successful we've been in getting the word out about Medicaid cuts. All of those people yelling at town halls didn't get their information from Republicans.
It was a strategic move, but not a whole lot of people are going to know, or care, about Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer's invite to bypass leadership and go directly to Trump, knowing he would cancel.
Republicans are really good at repeating a lie a gazillion times. We can do that with the truth.
I strongly believe that the Olympic Games, scheduled to be held in the summer of 2028, should not be hosted in Los Angeles.
I have looked forward to having Los Angeles host the next summer Olympic Games in 2028. Until recently. Until now. Our current administration has been so unwelcoming to people from other countries, and I have watched as California as a whole has been attacked from various angles, and Los Angeles specifically. Since the president of the United States addressed the United Nations this past Tuesday, I am aghast. The way he presented himself to the rest of the world was astonishing, disgusting, revolting, vile, maniacal, and beyond narcissistic. I am embarrassed to be an American at this present time. I would love to take this Olympic world stage away from him. Yes, there are reasons not to cancel the LA Olympics, but I think we need to put decency and the support of human dignity and human rights at the forefront, which are things that this administration do not support.
I would especially feel for the athletes if the LA Olympics are cancelled. But I think we need to take a stand now, not later. NOW. Hit him where it hurts, mainly his ego. Cancelling the LA Olympics now will give the IOC time to figure out what to do, possibly find another country/countries to host the 2028 Olympics. Or postpone them. And cancelling the LA Olympics now gives athletes time to digest this, deal with the disappointment, and change their training strategies.
Might I suggest that the International Olympic Committee consider relocating the games to Canada, maybe Germany, France or Italy. Sure Mexico would work.
I agree. We shall see what the world is like then. It is already quite likely that the World Cup Soccer which is supposed to be held in Canada, Mexico and the US next summer will not be held here because too many players and fans cannot attend. Let us see if the leadership of international organizations will continue to or stop catering to the US, like they would to any other dictatorship.
