I’m not shocked and I refuse to be awed. Our job is to step up to this moment and take the action necessary. If any readers don’t know what to do, find a local Indivisible group or another grassroots group focused on action and join in. There is no other solution. We have to keep doing the work. If we do that, we will win.

Open letter to "Trump" voters or those who didn't vote for Biden:
You hated what Biden supposedly did to Afghani helpers to the troops, so you voted for POS or stayed home. POS has suspended ALL refugee claims including those Afghani helpers because?
Seniors, you thought the POS was the "cats' meow" and cared about you, so you voted for him. His stooge Johnson is pushing a bill to cut Medicare to the bone to pay for tax cuts to billionaires. And cuts to Medicaid - you know, that help that will pay for you in nursing homes when your family doesn't or can't afford to. The POS also cancelled all of Biden's efforts to cap drug costs. Enjoy paying thousands of $$$$ to stay alive.
Food costs: you believed the POS when he said he'd cut food prices because he said so. Let us know how it goes when you can't get fresh produce because the workers who picked them and packed them have been kicked out of the country.
People in disaster areas: you voted for him because you believed his lies about FEMA. Enjoy the next disaster, talking to you folks in the hurricane areas, he's cutting FEMA to 25% of its current budget. Oh, and if you happen to live in a blue state, kiss any help goodbye.
People on airplanes and in cars: POS fired the head of the TSA and advisory groups to protect our roads and airspace. Enjoy flying!
People who are benefiting by Biden's infrastructure bill to build roads, bridges, etc. especially in red states. The POS suspended all payments to build roads, bridges, etc.

How about posting the names of all the senate and house democrats that lent their support to this bill. The crisis is now. The need for a unified, vocal party of opposition that takes to the cameras on a daily basis is paramount. That the chirping of crickets in the halls of congress is enough to drown out the cries of protest is truly disheartening. The democrats who supported this bill were loud and clear when they wanted our money to fuel their campaigns. Where is the bravery and backbone they promised and we had a right to expect? To be honest if the Biden Admin had been tougher on immigration in the first place it couldn't have been used as a bludgeoning tool against Democrats for 3 years.
That said, I'm hoping groups like the ACLU or what not can push back against the indefinite detention of those who are accused of non-violent crimes. Tough pill to swallow, but it's not worth breaking up with the Dems who voted on it because overall it was a very popular piece of legislation for voters and we certainly would be punished again for it in 2026 if they didn't vote for it.

This is exactly what I tried to tell people when they were wringing their hands over why Democrats didn't have had a better message and why-oh why did people vote for the Felon. Like it or not, there are MANY people in this country who embrace those ideologies and will be far more interested in voting for those "causes" rather than the price of eggs.

If he stops giving people access to health information--and I'm not just talking about abortion and vaccines but everything--he makes the population sicker. Keep studying the language, purges, tactics that were used by other dictators who took control in increments. Drawing clear lines between the sides is likely part of the strategy. I do not for a moment think any resistance and outrage will change their minds just as they are not trying to change ours. The stronger the resistance the more likely elections will be called off in the name of protecting the country from violence.
