I’m putting this out everywhere I can in hopes someone with the ability to create a montage of DT’s obvious mental decline, showing how the people really in charge are Steven Miller and Russell Vought and other disgusting people like that. While DT has a cult following, these people do not.
I love the Court turning trump's "I'm helpless to help Kilmar" back on him. Just as I love the indicted judge in WI citing the presidential immunity case as reason for HER immunity as a judge just doing her job. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in the latter instance when the defense team is sitting around brainstorming various defense and someone shouts "Hey! There's a CASE for that."
If it ever warms up here I'm going to have to drag out my 86 45 TShirt from 2000--though it is in Roman Numerals--to see if there are any ancient-numerate ICE folks around.
Part A: Okay, let's start out with a human. If you are a serious person who is concerned about what's going on in this society and feel the need to discuss it with other people who are similarly serious and concerned then that means you are the human that we start out with. First thing to do is find someone else who would like to hold serious discussions with you at least once per month. Second thing to do is the two of you find a third person who will like to join the two of you in serious talk. Then the three of you find a fourth person. Then the four of you find a fifth person. Finally, the five of you find a sixth person and then stop. Hold these discussions for two years. Now suppose there are other groups of 6 in your region who have this same need to listen and to talk. Let's find a way to "randomly" select 8 groups of 6 and establish a special group of 8 people with one from each group of 6 and have that group of 8 also meet regularly. This group of 8 is likely to be more diverse because there was that word "random" used in defining it. (Think of the random assortment of your parents' genes when you came to be.) Each of the reps on the group of 8 will inform his own group of 6 what the other groups are talking about. So what we have is (6 x 8 = 48) forty eight brains thinking together. Liken it to a "mini network." Try to imagine it. What could potentially come out of it? I think it might be fun to try it out and see what happens. By the way, please notice that it doesn't need money nor political party connections. If you like this idea then you – yes you – can get it started.
Part B: Would you be interested in being part of such a group? Remember: it's not a political party. In fact, It would be open to people from all political parties as well as independents. Would there be anything in it that would be fearful to you?
This is particularly galling given the current moves to dismantle government agencies to protect citizens and relocate those actions to the States.
I guess the States can't be trusted to know what’s in their residents best interest regarding AI and our highly effective Congress will get around to it sometime in the next 10 years 🤯.
Given the rate of change and urgency of the ongoing rollout of AI here and globally and its impact on EVERY aspect of our lives AND the wealthy’s deep deep investment in the current and future tech, this is as hypocritical a move as imaginable this side of just burning the Constitution and installing Trump as 👑.
If you’ve been concerned about the state of AI, throw this on the pile and voice your objection to this abominable proposed legislation that would give tech billionaires the green light to be unfettered by law to do as they please.
Yes! We can be pleased with the SCOTUS pointed opinion regarding Trump’s efforts to use the Alien Enemies Act, judges, and Stephen Miller. Yet, we are readily expecting and seeing two justices - Alito & Thomas - consistently voting in opposition to the seven justices more attuned to justice, law & order.
At some point and in some manner we must call out these two reprobates and call for their removal; perhaps after Dems win a majority in the House & Senate. They are clearly aligned with the insurrectionists who marched on the Capitol at the behest of DJT. Enough with their personal views failing to speak of Constitutional rights or justice.
According to what I am reading on reputable sites, the way the Republican "One Big Beautiful Bill" is currently written, the Medicare work requirements don't become effective until 2029. Is that accurate? If so, it seems particularly diabolical. They assume that a future (Democratic?) administration will then get blamed for this and, even if there is a Democratic House & Senate, not a sufficient number of Democrats in the senate to overcome a filibuster when Congress tries to repeal of that provision.
Thank you Robert for the shout-out for the Resistance. Much appreciated as I ride the #33 bus to Georgetown for my 5th Tesla Takedown DOGE Dance Party. M St is very well traveled on Saturday mornings and the message of strength mixed with the obvious joy of involvement in protesting what’s happening in our beloved Democracy is making a difference. How can it not?! Our DJ and his dance tapes awaits. 🎶🎤🎶
Before Trump's election, I had never understood the role of federal courts in our judicial system.
There is no way to fully express my gratitude for these men and women's extraordinary courage and dedication.
Without their unwavering commitment to the Constitution, we would have already lost our Democracy. My bucket list has lengthened to include a day sitting in the gallery of their courtroom as they dispense justice on our behalf.
A quote from Nelson Mandela may be a good mantra for us:
"It always seems impossible until it is done."

This is an astonishingly bad bit of legislation before Congress. Halting all states from enacting AI legislation FOR 10 YEARS!

VERY MOTIVATIONAL TODAY!! Thanks for reinforcing that our collective resistance is making a difference. I’m convinced!
Thank you Mr. Hubbell, you really nailed it this time!
The arc of justice bends not necessarily toward justice but the way the powerful bend it, so we have to keep proving the people have the most power.
I may have imparted wrong information. It appears Emhoff has not resigned. Apologies.
Regarding the necessity of nation-wide protests and concerted opposition, I refer you to the New York Times May 11, 2025 Sunday Opinion: No One Has Ever Defeated Autocracy from the Sidelines: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/08/opinion/trump-authoritarianism-democracy.html?unlocked_article_code=1.H08.5zNX.k4XVyJqFyk9u&smid=url-share

This essay has a lot of food for thought. I feel it's important to put it out there.
